10. She has a really loud, genuine, infectious laugh.

9. She takes a lot of interest in other people, and always asks new acquaintances questions about themselves to make them more comfortable. (Please note: the below picture is of my sister, and not a “new acquaintance.” I just thought it was a nice picture.)  MORE REASONS, PLEASE!

Merry Christmas!

[an Aussie posting Santa-style this morning at the beach]

It feels less awkward to have a Merry Christmas post up now that it will be Christmas in the States in a mere 45 minutes.

Merry, merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and yours – I hope it’s the best one yet!  And try not to overdo it on the eggnog this year.  I’m talking to you.

Christmas in Oz

…and I’m off!

I’m setting out this evening for a two and a half week long trip to Melbourne and Sydney, Australia – I can’t wait!

Since it’s Christmas (soon), please accept my sincerest apologies for the dearth of recipes and posts in general recently – life has been crazy.  I hope that everyone has such a wonderful holiday season, and I’ll be back with pictures galore (and hopefully NOT a sunburn) in 2011!  New Years’ resolution: pay more attention to my blog.  Also, vegetables.

Merry Christmas/Kwanzaa/Diwali, Happy New Year, and lots of love to you all! 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving!

I feel a little redundant putting a “be thankful” post after that last incredibly sappy one, so I’ll just stick with this: this week, I am thankful for puppies.

And all of you.

Happy Thanksgiving!  🙂  I hope you all have a wonderful day filled with good food, people who are important to you, and love in general.  And if not, come to my house!
