Birthdays, Life

Birfday Week

[Pink stools!!!!!!!!!!]

You guys!  The 4th of July happened.  We bought a Wii.  My sister came to visit.  It’s rained like every day.

And my birfday is on Sunday.  Twenty fo’!

Most people who know me well know that I have kind of a complex surrounding my birthday.  I honestly don’t know what’s caused it, but I think it might have something to do with being a summer baby – I never got any cupcakes in school.  And my friends were usually away at camp on my birthday growing up.  Wah, wah, wah.

[My Man and I on my family birthday dinner last year.  We look tired.  We left for Colorado the next day!]

So this year, I’m taking back my birthday.  I have declared this my Birthday Week.

What does that mean, exactly?  Oh, I don’t know.  I guess I figure that instead of letting something happen for my birthday, I’ll just make sure to surround myself with people I like and do things that make me happy.  Annnnnd eat and drink things.  Because that’s important.

My aunt, uncle and Lila will be here on my birthday, too.  So that pretty much guarantees good times.  And good beer.

Also, My Man brought these home tonight to ensure that we had fresh flowers for my (self-declared) Birthday Week.  So it’s going pretty well so far!  My well-honed hint dropping skills sure have come in handy.

[Lilies are my favorite!  Yay x 100.  And yes, that’s a re-purposed Grey Goose bottle.  I am soooo drunk Boulder.]

Speaking of which – if you’re racking your brain trying to figure out what to get for me, you can start here.  Just kidding.  (Kinda.)

That website is seriously the worst thing ever, but you should probably use it, too.  I do NOT need a place to catalog the millions of things that I want.  Except, I do.  So it’s great.

And with that, I’ve got some really important Wii hula-hooping to get back to!  I’ll check back with details on the reality of how Birthday Week pans out.  Twenty-three has in general been a really good year, so I’m mostly just hoping that twenty-four brings the same old.  With booze.  Nah mean?

I hope summer so far is delightful for all!
